OurStoop

About OurStoop

If you've ever served on the board of a small co-op or condo in New York City, you know the job. The late-night emails about the leaky roof. The compliance deadline you almost missed because it was buried in a city database nobody checks. The vendor who's been “on his way” for three weeks.

You took on this role as a volunteer — because you care about your building. Nobody handed you a manual. Or maybe they did, but it was a 7-year old Google doc, on the last Treasurer's personal gmail, and he hasn't lived in the building for 3 years.

We built OurStoop because we've been there too.

What OurStoop is

OurStoop is built specifically for self-managed co-ops and condos in NYC — the small buildings where a handful of volunteers are responsible for everything from boiler maintenance to Local Law compliance.

We're bringing together what boards actually need: compliance tracking across city databases, vendor management, governance and decision records, building documents, and communication with owners and shareholders. All in one place, with a purpose-built tool that saves you time and headache.

We're in the early days of building and we're looking for boards who want to be part of shaping it.

Who we are

We're Erik and Mike, co-founders of OurStoop. Between us, we've spent over a decade on the boards of small co-ops and condos. We're building this because we kept running into the same problems, kept cobbling together the same workarounds, and got tired of waiting for a better solution.

We're talking to as many board members as we can: learning what actually matters, what's broken, and what good looks like. If you're on a self-managed board, we'd love to hear from you.
